Located within just 50 meters of a rail line and just a short distance from Canada Cobalt’s Castle and Beaver properties, the facility will also become the new home of the Company’s environmentally friendly Re-2OX Process.
Re-2Ox Process
A purely hydrometallurgical approach for selective metals recovery
The process takes metal-rich mining concentrates or recycled battery materials and converts them into premium value-added battery materials. Lab tests exceed technical specifications of cathode producers in Asia.
SGS Canada (Lakefield) is designing and building the pilot plant. Current testing is focused on recovery and metal recycling from Lithium-ion, Nickel-hydride and Nickel cadmium batteries to capture valuable materials and divert spent batteries from landfills.
